this weekend is the\u00a0harvest moon<\/a>, it is called that because it gives off enough light to let farmers work late into the night harvesting their crop. at least, that\u2019s what i recall. all my crops are in so i won\u2019t have to use the extra light.<\/p>\n

i took the big kids for a walk one day this week over to the\u00a0walking bridge<\/a>\u00a0in lyndhurst that connects the two disconnected sides of professor rd, we also went through the boy\u2019s favorite secret path that connects professor and fay for walking\/bike traffic only. the smell of autumn was heavy in the air.<\/p>\n

the boy and i are settling into our morning routine, although the wife took over this morning, sensing that he needed some mommy time. he\u2019s been going through a lot of changes lately. we are trying to get him used to eating something before he gets on the bus, today he did eat a\u00a0toaster strudel<\/a>\u00a0that looked pretty chocolatey.<\/p>\n

the first time he took the bus home, on monday, they managed to get him loaded up on the wrong one and both he and the wife were pretty upset, but things have calmed down. he\u00a0is<\/strong>\u00a0gone a long time for just being in kindergarten, leaving at around 7:30 in the morning and not getting home until 2:45 or so.<\/p>\n

the girl now has the head cold that has been passing from kid to kid, but can manage with it. she went over to grandma\u2019s house yesterday and had a grand old time.<\/p>\n

the baby\u00a0still<\/strong>\u00a0has her cold. she\u2019s sniffing and all filled up with snot making eating more of a chore. but she is still getting chubby.<\/p>\n

this sunday we are going to the sister\u2019s of nortre dame\u00a0chicken barbecue<\/a>\u00a0out at\u00a0notre dame-cathedral latin<\/a>\u00a0with my parents and at least one of my brother\u2019s families. i miss this some years as it conflicts with\u00a0brown\u2019s games<\/a>\u00a0but this weekend they are in green bay and it doesn\u2019t start until 4:15 (we better be home by then!).<\/p>\n

i managed to go to the only\u00a0game<\/a> the tribe has lost lately, but it was still fun to go to a game. we had good seats, a friend\/coworker has an \u201cindian\u2019s guy\u201d that works for the team who can get good comp seats. they are making a pretty strong run and will hopefully, suprisingly make the playoffs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
