Sue Wiley’s See’s Fudge

  • 3 6-ounce packages semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarin
  • 1 7 1/2 ounce marshmallow cream
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 13-fluid-ounce can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
  • Generously butter a 12 3/4 9X2 inch pan.
    In a large bowl combine chocolate pieces butter and marshmallow cream; set aside
    In a large saucepan mix together sugar evaporated milk: place over moderate heat.
    (Do not use temperature controlled burner.)
    Stirring constantly, bring to a full rolling boil and boil 10 minutes or until mixture registers 2? (275) F on candy thermometer.
    Pour over chocolate mixture and stir vigorously until chocolate is melted and mixture is well blended.
    Stir in walnuts. 
    Turn into prepared pan and spread evenly.
    Refrigerate until firm.
    Cut into squares.
    Makes about 4 1/2 pounds.
