the baby has been sick lately, actually all three of the kids have been sick, but you tend to notice it more when the baby is sick because we are up all night (the wife more than me, but i still tend to wake up even if i’m not doing anything). she’s not a really good sleeper anyway but since she’s been sick she’s been up every hour or more through the night.
the interesting thing that happens being up often in the middle of the night is that one can remember a lot more of ones dreams, and a lot of the dreams are very very strange. directed dreaming works a little bit too, e.g. if i wake up at 3 for ten minutes and start thinking about something as i go back to slept occasionally it will show up in the next dream. they are almost like tv shows, as the baby will sleep for forty five minutes or an hour and then wake up again, i will occasionally fall asleep wonder what the next dream episode will be about.
thankfully over the past few days she seems to be doing better and just waking up every couple of hours for a snack from mom to get her through until the morning. she seems to sleep best from 4 or 5 in the morning until she gets up at 8 or 9.
