it has come and gone for another year. it was a standard affair as far as holidays go, with the regular travel schedule south on christmas day and then back home the day after. the only excitement was the boy getting sick christmas night, he said his ear hurt and he had a stuffed up

school mornings have become a nice routine. most mornings i will get up with the boy, or he will get up by himself since his internal clock seems to be on school time now. when he packs his lunch the wife gets up with him to make his lunch, but that is usually only once

the baby’s baptism was last weekend. then we had a party for her and for the boy’s birthday. never have there been so many little feet running around my house. at one point i considered getting out the baby gate to lock them all upstairs. pictures at the other website.
we were having some issues with bedtime since the boy and girl moved into the same room, so the boy came up with a solution. when everything is done (books, hugs, teeth brushed, etc) and it is time for them to go to bed we set a timer for five or ten or fifteen minutes,
yesterday was “special persons day” at the boy’s school. all the kids were allowed to bring in one adult to see the classroom, school, etc. so he picked me and i was back to school for a couple of hours in the morning. it was pretty cool, i got to see all the various rooms;
we made it back pretty much unscathed from our trip to the country. the only highway excitement was on the way home when the wife was driving, a big rig had a tire blow out about a hundred feet in front of us. pretty loud but the truck driver was unfazed and just kept going
we’ll be loading up the family truckster and heading south again this weekend, in a couple of hours in fact. stopping in cinnci tonight and then on to the annual fall festival in kentucky on saturday. activities promised include fishing, horse rides, the fall hay ride, the big bonfire and camping out. the big kids
